Subliminal Criminal comes from the dancefloors of the London underground
where he spent many years filling his ears with the sounds that where pumping
out there. Over the past years he has been residing in the Netherlands, but
now after many years away he's now made the move back to the UK.
Producing music since the mid nineties he has released on various labels
like Grijs, K-Hole Productions, Nocturnal State, Bunker, House of Freaks
and soon to be released on Control Tower, besides cooperations with Jeff
Network 23, Esoteric, Krude, Spool, Serotonin and Filter Fedde. His musical
development has gone from underground techno to a music which he describes
as... industrial funk!
it's a fusion of styles that can vary considerably but always
with one eye on the dance floor and with a definite twist of psychedelic
weirdness in there somewhere
The difference between what I do when I play my live
set compared to what a lot of other artists seem to do with their live
set is I totally improvise with my machines, no pre-written tracks or songs,
playing it all by feel. Learning my craft from years of being around
the Jedi Knights of live set in the European underground. There we had the
freedom to test what we did on multitudes of soundsytems and were able to
play for hour upon hour in the freedom that we had created. My personal
definition of what is a live set is to say that if you took your hands off
the equipment would anything change or would it continue in the same loop
? Others may disagree and each to their own, every musician has their own
reasons for doing it the way they do but this is how I personally see it,
if you want it be totally perfect then play records, thats what I reckon
anyway
Subliminal Criminal is one of the founding members of Nocturnal State and
one of the driving forces behind the Industrial Funk parties.
it was not our main intention to do it better than
what was already here, we are just music junkies and what better way
is there to satisfy your addiction than to ask those artists that you are
into to come and play at your parties
There's a big difference between talking about it and doing it,
and if you can't find satisfaction in what is around you, you must
get off your arse and Do It Yourself
Now the mission is to put the many years of underground vibes and bring
it to those who may well have not seen or heard it done that way. We are
those that have never pretended, we never hid behind nothing, we are who
we are and that is true to our selves and what we believe in. Old forces,
friends and allies seem to be together again here in the London area for
another big push over the top, this time with more knowledge, skills and
experience, we believe in us and what we all are capable of.
We are putting the band back together again...

I saw this in a job advert, why is it that the rest of the world speaks in ways that I just cannot understand, no wonder I found sanctuary in the world of turntables, sound systems and freaky dancing.

MP3 Download :
Keeping the beats dark and the bass lines dirty, straight out of London south of the river, one of our original allies Black Mass Plastics mixes up the breaks.
Our friends ' The Dead SIlence Syndicate band ' had this as a link on their site. Actually I did not see that Ren had put it on there, it was when they were staying with us that Glenn their sound engineer brought it to our attention. I feel this clip is very powerful, I think all should see and listen to it and take note. I think to change things for the better in this world, it is better done by being creative rather than destructive, if you truly believe something not to be right then speak out and do something about it, I think this clip sums this up perfectly.
