Growing up in the underground music scene in Los Angeles, Nurotika has been influenced by darker, experimental music since the late 80s. When the techno scene exploded in the early 90s, she welcomed this musical evolution with open ears. Making her home back in Los Angeles, Nurotika began a career as a graphic artist in the entertainment industry. She decided to start experimenting in different field other than visual through the use of her music collection.
By 2002, Nurotika was offered guest spots on techno internet radio show, Rhythm Workshop on Vibeflow. In 2003, Nurotika landed a residency with H20 Productions. By the end of the year, she was organizing and booking their monthly breakbeat night while holding guest DJ spots at parties and dance clubs around Los Angeles.
In 2004, Nurotika teamed up with local music producers to organize Militantsexcouncil; an artist collective with the common goal to continue their assault of exposing the Southern California EDM community to various experimental techno talents through their series of monthly events called Shocker.
Nurotika invokes a dark, moodier edge of breakbeat by mixing an array cinematic tracks consisting of deep bass, techouse and electro with broken beats. She currently resides in the Netherlands working as a freelance graphic artist and DJ.
